More Information:
Genuine Organic Argentine Mate. Toasty, roast, mellow maté. A cultural drink of ancient origins, Mate is often traditionally enjoyed in a Cuia and sipped from a bombilla*. Yerba Mate contains Matteine which is similar to Caffeine.
Origin: South America
Ingredients: Organic, Genuine Roasted Argentine Yerba Mate
Steeping Guidelines:
Water: 150° - 160°F | 1 Tsp per 6 ounce cup | Infusion Time: 7 - 10 minutes.
Warm your teapot with a little hot water, discard, place leaves in teapot (one level teaspoon per cup),
allowing heat of the pot to release bouquet of the leaves. If using a Gourd, fill 1/3 with Mate.
Add a bit of cool water to cover the leaves and stems. If using a Bombilla, sip as desired. Refresh Gourd with hot water to taste.
Infusion Tips:
Use COLD filtered or spring water, whenever possible
Don’t over boil water, Don't over steep tea
Remove leaves after recommended time (adjust to taste)
*Vary time according to taste, & remember that steeping tea leaves beyond 10 minutes does not contribute to flavor, only bitterness.
If you want a stronger taste, use more tea leaves instead of steeping for a longer time
